Biography

I'm a junior majoring in computer science with a minor in economics. I work on a number of diversity projects, from creating mentoring opportunities for women to planning an annual multicultural retreat and other events that celebrate the rich student body at MIT. I'm a lab assistant for 6.00, an introductory computer science and programming course, which means I help with grading and office hours. I'm a contributing editor for MIT's student newspaper, The Tech, where I primarily do copy editing (i.e., glorified proofreading). I'm a member of the Gordon Engineering Leadership Program. In January 2013 and 2014 I'll teach 6.S189, a three-week intro to programming to prepare students with no coding background for computer science classes - no, not everyone comes to MIT knowing how to build computers!

I love talking to prospective students about MIT, the college admissions process, and college life. You can catch me giving information sessions for the admissions office a couple times a week in late fall and early spring while the admissions officers are holed up reading applications.

I love coffee, spending time with my suitemates, trying different food in Boston, and playing videogames.
