An Awesome Autobiography by Chris Peterson SM '13

in rage comic form

Last weekend I posted an entry on my birthday, sharing some things I have learned now in my advanced age. On the same day, in a very different part of the Internet – though culturally close and easily accessible via a tesseract – an 86 year old man posted his autobiography to reddit in rage comic form. I don’t actually read reddit, but most of my friends do; now, 9 days later, it has filtered through the rest of the Internet back to me, and on to you. It is pretty awesome, and another piece of data (I am tracking this very closely and rigorously) supporting the conclusion that November 5th is unquestionably the best of birthdays.

What does this have to do with MIT Admissions? Nothing really. Then again, neither did 50 Things, at least strictly speaking. I just enjoyed reading about the perspective of an 86 year old veteran and videogamer on life in a rage comic. Maybe you will too. And if so, you can join me in a virtual toast to 1925gamer; may he, and Mrs. 1925gamer, live long and headshot n00bs for many years to come.

    I saw this on Reddit a week ago – really inspiring story. Thanks for sharing, Chris!

    This is great.
    I have searched the site but I will need some more thorougher information about my range of interests. Will my choice of major affect my chances of getting financial aid?

    No it will not.

    @Eugene –

    We require a school report for all your years of high school, but not a midyear report as you have already completed it.

    That’s an epic story, I work with a guy kinda like that but he’s not quite as old. It’s always a good reminder of the purpose of life is to live and not to dwell on what you never did but to strive for what you can still do.

    Chris I was beginning to become worried because my secondary school report and high school transcript box hasn’t been marked off yet and as it says allow up to two weeks for documents to be processed, my transcript should have been processed. I was just wondering if there seemed to be quite a bit of documents still being processed and how much I should be trying to get another one sent to ensure it arrives seeing as I have applied for early action.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dimitri

    Hello, please clarify does one still need to send his Mid year School Report and School Report if he is a High School Graduate, and Final School Report is available for submission?
    If School Report is required, how many years of the Secondary/High School report is necessary?
    Thanks for your immediate response.

    Ciao,
    Eugene

    This is hilarious! Thanks for posting it, Chris. It makes me think of how I’ll look at the world when I’m 86. Haha. =]
