And I forgot to mention the point that you have a phenomenal voice and this WASN'T the most boring blog ... but one of the BEST I or most probably anyone has ever seen .. And I am not going well .. hahah .. Hope you are ..!!!

That was great! You should write more songs.

But can you eat a massive plate of nachos and follow it up with deep-fried cheesecake? Because I can.

Posted by: Snively on February 1, 2012

omG what is going on with me? I'm commenting every post now, they are great! But anyway, nice entry (: I like your spontaneity! But hey, just a tip, I think your 6th (maybe 5th) string is a bit off-tuned.. ;P Good job! Keep up! (:

You sing beautifully! Why would I want to gouge my ears out? Also, I completely forgot about that song, so now I'll have to go find it on Spotify. Makes a nice change from all the musical music I've listened to lately.

How long have you been playing guitar?

Posted by: Piper H. '13 on February 1, 2012

Elizabeth!!

I almost never comment but your posts always make me smile, so thanks. (:

@Snively: Touche, sir. But to be fair, you have to give some credit to Jess. After all, she pretty much single-handedly conquered that sour cream.

@Piper: I am actually embarrassingly terrible at guitar. I bought the cheapest one on Overstock my freshman year when I still worked at the daycare thinking I was going to learn a couple songs and play for the kids. What ended up happening was that I spent an evening learning the most basic chords and then I was too lazy to practice anything, so now I only play when I'm making up dumb songs for the blogs. But if you or anyone else can legitimately play, then we should start a BLOGGER BAND!

Amazing!

Posted by: Shreya on February 1, 2012

That was fantastic.

Elizabeth, you are my inspiration! I still cannot stop laughing (your singing is great: I am laughing with you, not at you) and feel like a great burden has been lifted. It is so great to see an MIT student demonstrate so much compassion for uncertain applicants!

Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis smile

This was on my birthday Elizabeth !! Thanks for the song haha
Hopefully I'll be admitted, which will be a much better birthday present, no offense :p

Elizabeth, you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are by far my favorite blogger.

Posted by: Justin on February 2, 2012

Elizabeth, thank you so much! Your art and your smile, there is a moment when I forget about the future full of corners and I embrace the present as a miracle

Posted by: Gonzalo on February 2, 2012

Elizabeth, thank you so much for writing/singing/playing/posting this song! It hasn't been a great week for me, but this really cheered me up a lot. Your lyrics were SOO accurate, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who got a little bit teary-eyed halfway though smile.

The time and effort you put into these blogs really does make a difference. Thank you again!

I have a request....how about a song for the mom who is trying to complete her end of the deal including taxes, financial aid, IDOC, and what ever else there is....thank you MIT for your admissions blogs, they sure are a big help! Oh, and Elizabeth, my sister lives in Columbia MO, I know that 2 hour drive on interstate 70! Just add 10 more hours from Ohio. Thanks!

isn't MIT the hardest part ;D

Posted by: rfong'12 on February 3, 2012

Elizabeth - you're too cute!

Posted by: Jenny '13 on February 3, 2012

nice. but it couldn't help me. I am stressed out but not because I am worried about the admission process in MIT. I am stressed out because my country sucks. my country is not stable, we don't have any sort of safety (physically, mentally, economically , etc) and any day a war might happen in my country. and because of some reasons MIT is the only foreign university I got through it's admission process. I just want you to wish me luck in every aspect of life and wish this disaster to end ASAP.
I am just sorry if I made you sad I am not in a good mood right now and I wanted to talk with someone and know I just fell a little (only a little) better. I always read the blogs and it always makes me happier. Here is like a safe house for me and this is the only reason I am posting this comment here. Just wish me luck.

You are an amazing blogger, Elizabeth. Keep up the good work(:

Posted by: Pamela on February 6, 2012

Terrific stress reducer! I'd suggest it to all my friends if I wasn't so stressed that I think referring them would lead to them applying which would increase the applicant pool and lower my chances aaaaggghhhh
no but srs, thanks very much!

I like everything about this ! So sweet ! She writes! She Sings! She jams! WOW! Thanks for telling them to not slack the last semester smile)))

Thanks...
Writing the application was fun. Waiting for the decision is the hard part. Every day is like another drop on my forehead during a month-long Chinese water torture. I have the 14th of March marked down on literally every calendar I could get my hands on. Ironically, my birthday is on the 15th. I am counting down the days...
