International Selection Day 2 by Matt McGann '00

*Update as of 2015: Early action is available to both domestic and international students.

Today was the second and final day of international selection. It was extremely difficult, but I'm very excited about the students! Decisions are not yet final; the committee's decisions will be checked and reviewed over the next few days as we draw ever closer to Friday's expected mail date.

Also, today's Boston Globe had a quick item about stress and the college admissions process… I hope you're listening!

Marilee Jones, the dean of admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is well known in college admissions circles for her conviction that the increasingly stressful competition to get into an elite school is harming young people. […] Now, she's teaming up with the American Academy of Pediatrics to document the health effects of overscheduling young people.

The take home message is, relax! College admissions is not the end of the world!
