I have sent my Tax return forms through e-mail (on february 10th) at finaid@mit.edu and they are still shown as missing. I have sent them again today because I was told that all the files will be proccessed by March 1st. Is that ok?

Posted by: Cristy on March 9, 2012

Awards will be posted by mid-morning (EST) on Thursday, 3/15.

@Cristy - yes, that is fine. I would follow up with us via email or phone later today to make sure whe have it.

@kanishk
If you have already submitted 2011 documentation, we do not need the 2010 documents. We will use the 2010 documents only if the 2011 are not yet available.

thankyou madam

Hello,
does this apply to grad school as well?
thanks

I am happy and sad at the same time. But whatever be the outcome of Wednesday's admission results, I will make sure to take it in the best way I can. Everyone sending their application form, however good and confident they are, know that their chances are getting the praised 'ACCEPTED' is very low because of the other so awesome people who are also applying. Good luck peeps. Hope for the best and remember to smile smile
hehe xD

I submitted my CSS profile a while back, and did not file taxes since there is no system of taxation where I live (UAE). The people at SFS told me I had to submit a letter stating that I will not be filing taxes, and I therefore sent them an email with an attachment stating this. This has still not been updated on MyMIT, and I am worried as to why not. Can you please get back to me on this?
Thank you in advance!! smile

I have already send all my documents through IDOC, but for some reason in mymit account, it says that I have two documents missing. My mom lives in Peru, so I filled out a non-tax parent form, why does my account require W2 forms and 2011 Taxes form? She is currently unemployed there and doesn't have any income. What do I have to do?

Posted by: Flor on March 10, 2012

I sent an email to the assistant director of financial aid for my last name (why didn't I just say his name?) asking this, but just in case this is faster, I'll ask here:

I sent in through IDOC my NCP W-2 forms, but myMIT says I haven't yet. I was thinking I might have to send in my stepmother's as well? Her financial situation was pretty complicated last year and I was hoping I wouldn't have to mess with it, but it looks like I will.

TIA for looking at this and hopefully we can figure this out easily enough.

I received an email stating that besides the wage statement, I needed to send a special College Board form and an explanatory due to the fact that my parents don't file tax returns (I'm from Mexico). I could see my parents until yesterday's night so I send the scanned documents by email today (March 11th). The CSS profile already appeared on MyMIT. Would that delay the Financial Aid Decisions for me?

Thanks in advance

What exactly is a "Home Value/Debt Documentation" form and how am I supposed to submit this? MyMIT shows that I'm missing this...

Posted by: Virup on March 12, 2012

I have faxed my mother's tax documents twice but MyMIT account still shows that they have not been received. Please assist.

Posted by: Martha on March 12, 2012

@Giuseppe - this applies to Freshmen students. Financial aid awards for graduate students will be available mid-May.

@Brandon J. - yes, we will need your stepmothers tax information to complete your application.

@Virup - Home Value/Debt Documentation is clarification on the value of your parents' home as well as any debt, purchase price and year. You can send that information via email (sfs@mit.edu).

@Danyel - yes, if you just submitted the documentation yesterday, your award will not be available on Thursday. We will try to process it as quickly as possible but it will probably take a few weeks.

For those of you who are not seeing their documents on MyMIT, please contact our office directly at sfs@mit.edu or 617-258-8600.

When should my daughter register for her freshmen? She is a junior high now, & will graduate by May 2013.

My daughter is a junior this year. She is going to be a senior by June 2012.
Would you like to advice her when should she reigister to Mit and submit the application?

Best regards

Didi

@Didi - We are currently processing financial aid applications for students entering MIT in the fall of 2012. Students applying for the fall of 2013 should complete the Profile form sometime next fall and the FAFSA after 1/1/2013. Check the website in late summer/early fall for more detailed information.
