Thank you for your interest in a private group tour of MIT! Please review the information below before submitting your request.
Groups of 10–50 students are welcome to submit a request for a private group tour led by a current MIT student. Tours typically last 75–90 minutes.
*Please note that group visits do not include an information session and we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 50 people.
Group visits are by request-only and take place at either 9:30 AM or 2 PM on the dates listed in the request form. We require a minimum of 3 weeks notice to schedule group tours. Please allow 3–5 business days for us to get back to you about your request!
Private group fees
There is no charge for U.S. nonprofits or U.S. school groups when reserved by a teacher or counselor.
If we are able to accommodate your request, we will send you an invoice with a link to a secure website to make your payment. Please note that we are only able to accept credit card payments through this website. Final confirmation of your tour will be sent after the payment has been received.
Day of the visit
Visitors should leave plenty of travel time to get to campus, taking Boston traffic into consideration. Groups that arrive more than 15 minutes late can not be accommodated for a tour.
Visitors must conduct themselves respectfully while on the MIT campus. Disruptive behavior will result in termination of your tour and loss of future tour privileges.
Picture taking is not permitted in labs, offices, fitness facilities, or childcare areas. Video recording is not permitted anywhere on campus.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations must be received no later than two business days before your scheduled tour date for a full refund. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within two business days of the scheduled tour date, or for groups who arrive late and are not able to attend their scheduled tour.
Full refunds will be offered in the case of an Institute-wide closure or a sick or otherwise unavailable tour guide.
