Getting to campus
Parking on campus is extremely limited and availability varies. It is strongly recommended that visitors use public transportation or rideshare services to get to campus. Visitors can take the bus or ride the “T” (Boston’s subway system).
- Hop on the #1 or CT1 bus lines to 77 or 84 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge.
- Ride the Red Line subway to Kendall Square, on the east side of MIT’s campus.
- Take a taxi or rideshare
- If you must drive, there are a few paid public parking garages in the area.
Please note: MIT Admissions cannot reimburse parking costs.
Hooray for maps!
Behold, whereis.mit.edu. Just search for rooms (“admissions”, “10-100”), services (“public parking”) or whatever else you might need!
If you need directions to campus, we recommend Google Maps, which works very well for driving, public transit, walking and bicycling in the greater Boston area. Lydia has also blogged about how to get to MIT from the Red Line (subway).
If you’d like to print a map you may download one here.
