windows in the color of the sky by Ellie F. '28
but soft, what light through yonder window breaks?
I’ve been waking up with the sunrise all semester. It’s a curse. I don’t go to bed early enough to get sufficient sleep. It’s a blessing. I roll over in bed with my head in my hands, and through my fingers I draw out the lines in the sky between red to orange to gold, pink, lavender-white. How can anyone go back to bed when the sky is a foot from their pillow?
The sunsets aren’t so great for me, either. They’re distracting, consuming, and I can’t put my finger on it but I think they’re bad for my silly, excitable heart.
