We are located at the MIT Welcome Center near the Kendall Square T station. You can learn more in the Visit MIT section of our site. The Welcome Center is open from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday.

Admissions at the MIT Welcome Center
292 Main Street, Cambridge, MA 02142

Note: There is construction at the Kendall Square T station next to the Welcome Center; please leave extra time to navigate to our building.

Getting to the Welcome Center

The MBTA’s Red Line is your best option to get to the Welcome Center! Depending on where you are coming from, you could also walk, bike, take the bus, or maybe a taxi/rideshare.

We strongly encourage visitors not to drive to campus. Cambridge traffic is usually awful, the layout of the roads is confusing, and, although there is public parking at the Hayward Parking Garage, and other public lots in Kendall Square, it is pretty expensive and unpredictably limited.

If you are driving to the area, we strongly, strongly encourage you to park further out on the Red Line and take the train from there. In addition to being faster, cheaper, and better for the environment, you can conveniently visit many other colleges along the way! If you must drive to campus itself, then your best bet is to set your address for the Hayward Parking Garage, accessible at 33 Amherst Street, and keep your fingers crossed. 🤞

Please note: MIT Admissions cannot reimburse parking costs.

Hooray for maps!
