Biography
Hi!
I’m Taylor, a current freshman from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The first Krispy Kreme was founded there, so getting coffee from Dunkin’ in the student center feels like an act of donut-shop treason.
I’m all for simplicity: I love iced Americanos, marinara pizza, and driving on the highway on clear nights. I'm a failed middle school trumpeter and a recovering Swiftie. My favorite way to make difficult decisions is by asking Siri to flip a coin, and she’s right about half the time.
As of writing this, I’ve only been here for a little under a month, so I’m still figuring most things at MIT out. I love Boston’s vibrance and the New England cozy gloom. Two of my favorite things so far are 1. my dorm room’s view of the city skyline, and 2. the way that campus becomes a giant speaker by reflecting sound waves from Fenway Park concerts across the river. I also love books! Feel free to send a recommendation my way.
They haven’t let me officially choose my major yet, but I’m locked into neuroscience, and I’ll be in either Course 9 (Brain and Cognitive Sciences) or 6-9 (Computation and Cognition) as soon as they let me declare, if I have it figured out by then. Maybe I won’t, but that’s why I’m here---to hopefully figure things out, and share the process while I’m at it.
