For the next two weeks we will all use fewer words here by Chris Peterson SM '13

It is a New Year now and I hope it is good for you.

Ten years ago this time we had a thing where the students who write for us, and also students who went to this school in the past and used to write for us, could write only in words besides the words that most people in this place use every day. People thought this was very good.

We now do this again, but different. From 1/15 to 1/31, the people who write here may write only using the ten hundred most used words. I told them they can write about whatever they want but they can only use these ten hundred words when they write.

This is harder than you might think, as was learned by a man who draws pictures with words that people like. He learned that this was hard with this picture that he made to teach about  goer five using only these words.

Over the next two weeks you will see many words — but also fewer kinds of them — from people who are still young and also some who are old now. They will tell you about their lives and things they do in same but different way and we hope you like to read them.
