What type of first-year learning communities are available?

MIT undergrads come from every state in the country and approximately 75 countries across the globe. Every student brings something special to the community, and each learns in their unique way. Although we can’t offer something to meet every students’ unique individual learning styles, we have a variety of programs to choose from.

MIT’s first-year learning communities offer a distinct kind of learning environment that provides students with the opportunity to study and socialize as part of a smaller community while still taking advantage of the intellectual and cultural diversity of the Institute as a whole.
