July 2021: Although our office is still closed to visitors, you can still get a feel for MIT by signing up today for an đź”® online session or student-led tour.

How do I list standardized test results?

Note: Due to the pandemic, our office will be suspending our usual SAT/ACT testing requirement for the 2021–22 application cycle for both first-year and transfer students. You can learn more about this decision here.

If you have already taken standardized tests and would like to report those scores, you can self-report them on your application, and we will verify these scores upon enrollment. If you receive new exam results after you submit the application, you are still able to add them by following the “Add new test scores” link in the application portal.

We accept test results from any test taken before November 30 for Early Action applicants, and any test taken before December 31 for Regular Action applicants. We will also accept English language proficiency scores for RA applicants through the January test dates. You are not required to send your official scores as part of your application.
