The 2014 Engineers were the winningest (real word!) MIT football team ever!
In front of an enthusiastic home crowd on Senior Night, the MIT football team completed its historic regular season with a 24-13 victory over the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The win gave the Engineers the first nine-game undefeated regular season in MIT history. The Engineers captured their first New England Football Conference crown and were selected for the 2014 NCAA Division III Football Championship bracket.
MIT’s perfect season garnered a lot of press from coast to coast, with announcers pointing out that most of the team members had a better chance of “owning” an NFL team rather than “playing” on one.
