Summer programs

RSI is a six-week rigorous academic summer program where you'll live on the MIT campus, explore the science and technology facilities in the Boston area, and work on an individual research project with mentorship. This program is a collaboration between MIT and the Center for Excellence in Education, and it stresses advanced theory and research in mathematics, science, and engineering. You'll experience the entire research cycle: attending college-level classes taught by distinguished faculty members, preparing a research plan, and presenting your results.

MITES Summer is a six-week academic enrichment program where you’ll live on the MIT campus and take five rigorous math, science, and humanities courses. You’ll be immersed in life at MIT and participate in lab tours and social events, make friends with others who enjoy math and science, and get advice from admissions counselors about applying to college. There's also a hybrid six-month program called MITES Semester for students who cannot attend the Summer program (you apply to both with the same application).

√mathroots is a two-week summer mathematical talent accelerator hosted by the MIT Math Department on the MIT campus. This program is geared towards high-potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds or underserved communities who are interested in exploring creative topics in mathematics and problem solving. You'll work with a team of MIT instructors who have diverse experiences teaching both research and competition math, and you'll learn new skills and ideas through classes, group activities, and community collaboration.
