P.S. I’m on Team Yellow!
On the team, I was elected to serve as one of the System Integrators,02 Earlier this fall, I suffered a brain injury and stepped back from my role for the rest of the semester. It was tough—missing out on presenting tonight, supporting my team the way I had hoped, and taking a backseat overall—but it was the right decision for my recovery. The good news is, I am on track for a full recovery! Since then, I have been pitching in where I can, like hosting team socials, managing social media, and creating presentation slides. It has been fun being the team cheerleader! I’m so proud of my teammates and grateful for their kindness during my recovery—they have been amazing. which was a lot of work, but so worth it. I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve created. We’re so hyped. Just look at us:
Funny story
It feels like destiny that I ended up on Team Yellow. I was born on a Monday, and in Thai culture, Monday is associated with the color yellow/gold. My name, Kanokwan, means “girl of gold.” If you ever meet another Kanokwan, you can bet she’s a Thai woman born on a Monday! There are a few of us out there. And, as if that wasn’t enough, my last name means “to start and run a successful, developing business.” How poetic.
Another funny story
This year’s theme is balance. Ironically, because of my brain injury, I’ve had balance issues and now go to vestibular physical therapy. And—here’s the kicker—my team’s product is a physical therapy device! The coincidences this semester have been unreal.
Excited! T-minus 5 hours…
