A little news bite.
JK Rowling announces Harry Potter Book 7 Title
Not completely unrelated to MIT…well yea, but since finals are over and my brain is still mush, I’m allowed. It’s really only during the winter and summer breaks that I have the opportunity to read for enjoyment.
Harry Potter has had several other appearances in my time at MIT:
I was pretty excited when Book 6 came out.
And I also wore rockstar sunglasses when the Goblet of Fire movie came out.
it’s been so long that i almost forgot that there’s one more book
i bought all the former ones and read them a couple of times :D i’m excited, but i don’t want the story to end… i hope she’ll write a few more books about someone else from that world…
hey… i did the whole fancy thing on rowling’s website… cikcked on the farthest ddorknob… saw the garland… cobweb… chimes… n finally the box… then played hangman to get the title…!!! whoaaa… talk of adventure…
w00t! I’ll be buying it. . .midnight launch for sure! Anybody want to go with me?
But the real question, of course, is when it will actually be released…
I’m so sad the series is about to be over- no more of the HP speculation that makes my life so interesting. =)
Oh, wow! Can you believe I found out about this here first? And I even visit Mugglenet fairly frequently. This is probably going to be the main topic of conversation on Mugglecast this week. I hope the release date comes out soon. Extremely excited!!
And Laura, I completely agree – speculating on Book 7 has been one of my favorite distractions.

Arkajit, my friend called me yesterday to tell me about the new title. It is the first time in my whole “Harry Pottter obsession/career” that somebody tells me something I didn’t know about HP! I’m usually glued to Mugglenet.com, but I had finals this week, so MN was not a priority (mitadmissions.org was, though =D ).
don’t you find it funny that the releasing of the book 7 name got into the newspapers as an actual article?
I LOVE Harry Potter. Yes…hahah. I am definitely pumped.
I’ve been reading since fourth grade, when my parents bought me the book for Christmas.
I haven’t been to any of these Harry Potter websites, but I am curious – is there some kind of allegorical meanings in the book, or is it simply adventure?
Wow! I’m just waiting to get my hands on book 7! I just wish it wasn’t the last in the series!

Who thinks Harry’s going to get a visit from the Grim (Reaper)?
I wanted to get in touch with an MIT student probably freshman in physics,chemical or computer engineering.I am a kenyan student aged 19 majoring in chemical eng but doing the other two parttime.I have just finished writng an extreme scince book and am engaged in other science projects like making robots and stuff.If you know how badly I want to get to meet someone of my type ,you’d help me through this because today morning I was crying because I have at least two more semesters to complete before I can get transfer credit to MIT>
