We take an active role in a number of recruitment, outreach, and access programs as a network member with other participating departments or colleges. Admissions counselors also conduct recruitment travel each fall, host central meetings, and meet with community-based organizations (CBOs) and local high schools.
College Horizons
College Horizons is a pre-college program for Native American high school students open to current sophomores and juniors. MIT is one of 45–50 colleges and selected high school college counselors, Native educators, and educational partner volunteers who provide expert and one-on-one advising to helps students select colleges suitable for them to apply to, get admitted to, and receive adequate financial aid.
Mathroots
Mathroots (a joint program with MIT Admissions) is a free two-week mathematical talent accelerator residential summer program hosted by MIT PRIMES for nationally selected high-potential high school students from underrepresented backgrounds or underserved communities.
MITES Semester
MITES Semester is a six-month, hybrid learning STEM and college preparation experience. Running June through December, this national program provides engaging, rigorous online courses and weekly virtual webinars, social events, workshops, and meetings with peers in the fall. Students also benefit from college admissions counseling and networking with STEM professionals.
MITES Summer
MITES Summer is an intensive six-week residential academic enrichment program for high school juniors who intend to pursue careers in science, engineering, and entrepreneurship, especially those from underrepresented or underserved communities. The program is free of charge to participating students, not including transportation.
QuestBridge
QuestBridge helps talented, under-served low-income students prepare for college admissions, and manages the National College Match college application process. The National College Match is a streamlined application process whereby these students can apply to the partner schools. MIT is proud to be a QuestBridge partner college. If accepted through the Match program these students are guaranteed full tuition and housing scholarships for four years, or zero parental contribution.

Service to School
Service to School (S2S) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides free college application assistance to transitioning service members and veterans. S2S was founded by veterans and is led by veterans who are committed to transforming the veteran community through the power of higher education.
STARS College Network
The Small Town and Rural Students (STARS) College Network brings together a consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to working with high schools and access organizations to widen pathways to higher education for rural and small-town students and create a more comprehensive approach to college access through partnership. Our office is currently hiring for a staff member who will design and execute a program to engage rural students across the United States, develop a fall fly-in program, and work with student ambassadors who can speak to the experience of being a rural student at MIT.
Transfer Scholars Network
The Transfer Scholars Network connects high-achieving community college students to dedicated admissions representatives from top four-year colleges.
