▶️ I want to know a bit about you.
◀️ Well then, you’re in the right place! My name is Caleb, I’m a Junior majoring in 6-3 (Computer Science and Engineering) and 24-2 (Linguistics), and this is my first year as a blogger! I was raised in Dallas, Texas until finding myself on a flight up to Logan Airport and, ultimately, right here at MIT, and I live in Simmons Hall. Around campus, I’m involved in our radio station WMBR 88.1 FM, the Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Association, our African dance team Sakata, and the Center for Constructive Communication in the Media Lab!

▶️ I want to know a LOT about you.
◀️ Once again, you’re in just the right place! I’m here to give you a window right into my life as both an MIT student and just a still-young-ish guy who’s trying to figure the daily somewhere-around-everything out. I want to provide a direct view of what it’s like to live and grow and be here, student and person, learning and living.

▶️ I want to know what makes you you.
◀️ …rather personal, but sure. A lot of things make me who I am—my identity, my community, my upbringing, and so on. But, perhaps most pressingly, what makes me who I am are just three words that I try to live by every day that I’ve got: “Life is short.” So every day, every moment, I make the promise to myself that I won’t waste it.
