This blog is to all the affirmers out there. Especially any that could help me (and my roommate) achieve my (our) dream of running MIT Affirm.

Since my CPW,⁠01 Campus Preview Weekend, https://cpwcommunity.mit.edu  MIT Affirm (not affiliated with MIT (or Secret Spy Agency)) has been modifying the way my friends and I speak (MIT AFFIRM my speech is INTELLIGIBLE).

But since the beginning of this semester, MIT Affirm has gone dark, plunging thousands of students into an directionless, affirmationless squalor. As Thomas Hobbes famously wrote, life without MIT Affirm is “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” We had to improvise.

My roommate Anoushka and I took it upon ourselves to create our very own affirmations wall outside our door as part of a room-wide decorating initiative (MIT AFFIRM filming and editing a room tour is TRIVIAL). Anoushka did a beautiful job of creating some custom affirmations to tape onto our door early in the semester (I contributed the stickers). But though we planned to expand aggressively, no new affirmations were added since the first batch.

These are certified, homegrown, Anoushka-made affirmations!

The end of a semester and the start of a new year naturally lends to new affirmations, and as I waited for my plane home, which was delayed two hours (MIT AFFIRM my flight will not get cancelled due to crew timeouts), I composed a list of new affirmations.

Consider this my audition, affirmative gods that be.

i will update my affirmation wall
i am not too lazy to walk to the printer
i can stop whenever
its not a problem unless i say so
my final projects will take one hour
blog incoming about this one (':
seasonal depression will not touch me
fun game: watch people with umbrellas lose to nature
i have time to engage in hobbies
i will not regret this in two days when my pset is due

life is good and fine and so are my classes
gymmons is more than just a water fountain
hydration is important right
