At MIT diversity isn’t simply a word, it is an integral part of the MIT experience. MIT Admissions is committed to reaching students from all backgrounds. We know that while for some students getting into a school like MIT may seem like only a dream, there are many students currently on our campus who felt the same way before their dream became a reality. The mission of the MIT Office of Academic Community, Empowerment, and Success (OACES) is to champion the success of students who have faced challenges on their paths to and through MIT. This may include, but is not limited to, students who are first-generation, low-income, transfer, underrepresented, and/or underserved.
