Did an MIT grad start Khan Academy?

Salman Khan ’96 (18 & 6 and Class President!) and MEng ’98, started the online learning phenomenon in 1993 when he started tutoring his cousin, Nadia, in math over the internet. By the end of 2006, more relatives and friends were requesting help with their academics, so he started posting tutorials on YouTube.

Three years later Sal left his job as a hedge fund analyst to start Khan Academy, a nonprofit educational organization created to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
