MIT uses numbers for everything. You could be in 10-250 taking 18.03, which is 5-0-7, for 6-2.At MIT, all of your friends would understand exactly what you’re saying.

Translation:

You could be in Room 10-250, taking Differential Equations, which is the unit distribution: 5 hours in class per week, 0 hours in lab per week, 7 hours of homework per week, for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Simple!
