Joy X. '29

Biography

Boo! I’m Joy, and perhaps the first thing you will learn about me is that I juggle. Indeed, the second reason I applied to MIT was because it has a really good juggling club… Besides juggling in Lobby 10 some Sundays afternoons, you may also catch me riding my unicycle to class, slacklining, telling people I go to Clown College.

But the first reason I applied to MIT was because of the blogs--as a high schooler, I loved reading about the all the shenanigans that went down at MIT. Now that I’m a blogger, I hope to continue the tradition through cursed food, cursed Tims, and cursed other things. But I also hope to tell you all about the less cursed sides of my life at MIT.

Oh, and some more facts about myself: I’m from sunny Santa Barbara, California (so yes, Boston is cold, and no, I have actually seen snow before coming to MIT as someone who was born and spent 1/3 of her life--as of time of writing--in Pennsylvania). I’m a class of ’29 double majoring in 8 (physics) and 18 (math), but what I really want to do is to drop out of college and join the circus. Though, after a year at our esteemed Institution of Tomfoolery, maybe I’m already there… I hope you have fun reading about my antics!
