Good Luck Jo-Jo! by Matt McGann '00
There’s a story from the MIT News Office today about my friend Joanne (Jo-Jo) Chang ’03. I first met Jo-Jo my senior year at MIT, when I was serving as President of the Undergraduate Association, and she was serving as Freshman Class Vice President. After graduating in 2003 with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Joanne now works as a management consultant in the medical technology and pharmaceutical industries. Tonight and tomorrow night, Joanne will be competing with 16 women for the title of “Miss Massachusetts.” She competed last year as well, and was the 4th runner-up.
Another MIT alumna, Erika Ebbel, won last year’s Miss Massachusetts competition, and went on to compete in Miss America. You can read all about Erika here, here, here, here, and here. In 1999, another MIT alumna, Susan Rushing ’99, was a Miss Massachusetts finalist. Susan was also a finalist in the 1997 Miss Maryland and 2000 Miss Connecticut competitions.
Wish Jo-Jo the best of luck this weekend!
