From Wednesday’s faculty meeting…

Motion for a Bachelor of Science (S.B.) in Biological Engineering

Moved, that the Faculty approves the proposal of the Biological Engineering Division to offer an S.B. program that will lead to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering.

The Faculty recommends to the Corporation the designation of a new Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering to be awarded on the recommendation of the Biological Engineering Division.

For those of you waiting for the BE major, it looks like it will be approved at next month’s faculty meeting, and available starting with the Class of 2008 (the current MIT freshmen). Faculty will include Draper Prize winner Bob Langer, MacArthur “Genius Grant” Fellow Angela Belcher, and Linda Griffith.
