A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words by Snively '11

Therefore, this is a REALLY long entry.

Who: Chris M and Snively
What: A picture
Where: My room
When: Last year at the end of CPW
Why: We needed a picture together
How: How did we end up looking like this? 4 hours of sleep-ish each over about 4 days.

SO HOSED!

Hey I remember this picture from Chris M’s guest blog after CPW! It’s cool to see that he’s an official MIT Blogger now. smile

  2. Chris M says:

Lol wow, I can’t believe that was only like 7 months ago!

  3. Ehsan says:

    @ Colton

    But, Of course!

  4. Ehsan says:

For all of you that are not famaliar with The Big Bang theory this is Sheldon Cooper!

    Sheldon Cooper = Michael Snively!

  5. Curious says:

Snively has eye bags, Chris M doesn’t. Why?

  6. Colton says:

This kind of has me wondering what’s the longest period of time a MIT student has remained awake while at MIT. 4 hours of sleep over 4 days…I’m sure someone has done much better.

  7. Snively says:

    @Curious
Cuz I slept less! Seriously, I was SO DEAD at the end of that weekend.

  8. Ehsan says:

    Who took the picture then?

  9. Colton says:

Ehsan: Simple, you build a catapult to launch the camera the same way every time. Then you work out the center of mass of the camera, figure out how it rotates in mid-air, calculate the velocity needed for the launch, and perform the launch to get the perfect picture with a high shutter rate.

Or, of course, you could just use a tripod or have somebody else take the picture, such as a person from a nearby room.

This isn’t a computer science joke right? Im sure there is a huge story leading up to this point. The guy to the left doent look that bad.

  11. Snively says:

Ok, maybe this needed more explanation.

This is, quite possibly, one of the worst pictures of either Chris M or myself ever taken. This is because we’d been awake for a ridiculous amount of time during MIT’s CPW weekend. It just goes to show what a weekend at MIT can do to you.

  12. @RZF

    Well thanks, I’m flattered =)

of course at the same time I wonder what you must think of other photos of me if that one doesn’t look too bad. When I look at that I can’t help but laugh because of the look of sheer exhaustion on both of our faces, but maybe I can only tell because I remember how much we did and how little we slept.

  13. Ahana says:

Oh my God, Snively, you can protest enough for this, but you look SO much like Sheldon o.0

  14. Sam says:

Colton — I can’t claim any record, but 3 consecutive all-nighters before sophomore year Thanksgiving. That was the sweetest train ride home of all time.

  15. Muz says:

I’ve seen worse. I had a friend with bulging red eyes after studying for several hours straight in his room when the heater broke. We took a video of him mumbling something about dying if he slept in his room if it was that cold. You guys look pretty OK there, just a bit spaced out raspberry
