New music building set to open

Opening in February, the new Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building will "give MIT musicians the conservatory-level tools they deserve," says MIT President Sally Kornbluth. The building will feature high-quality rehearsal and performance spaces, a professional recording studio, classrooms, and laboratories for the music technology program.

Exploring design thinking to solve big problems

MIT Open Learning design thinking workshop

MIT Open Learning's design thinking workshop gave 20 STARS (Small-Town and Rural Students) fly-in program students a taste of MIT's minds-on, hands-on approach to learning. Students took an iterative approach to solving big climate change problems and built a model electric vehicle out of cardboard, hot glue, batteries, and a whole lot of creativity.
