From FIRST competitors to STEM ambassadors

FIRST Robotics, a nonprofit offering team-based robotics competitions for K–12 students, has deep roots in MIT’s undergraduate community. A new club for FIRST alumni, FIRSTxMIT, channels community into outreach to show young students what STEM is about.

Getting paid to eat and talk

MIT students can work on campus in roles across the Institute — including as a food influencer. As an MIT Dining Ambassador, biochemical engineering major Michaela B. '29 tells stories about food and documents campus dining culture for social media.

Design thinking takes center stage
