MIT is Utopia by Celena C. '12
Because the nice guys were here.
The last 2 weeks have been such a whirlwind of activities. Last weekend was Utopia, a big boat cruise and party in the Boston Harbor. MIT CSC (Chinese Student’s Club) hosted it, and a bunch of students from other schools (Harvard, BU, BC, Tufts, Wellseley, etcetc) came and it was a lot of fun. Then, yesterday night Wong Fu Productions came to MIT! They’re the guys behind Yellow Fever, Just a Nice Guy, and a bunch of other shorts and music videos. I’ve been a fan of them since high school, so I was super excited that I got a chance to meet them. Be sure to watch the end of my video, WF’s Philip Wang and Wesley Chen tell us why MIT is special to them.
Ahh! They came to MIT?! :D :D This is awesome.
Nice! By the way, just wanted to mention the broken tidbit at the top of the page above the link to the MIT homepage (top left). Just in case you haven’t notice yet.
Zomg wong fu productions. I used to watch their videos in eighth grade. They were hilarious.
Anna: you’re right, theres like broken code at the top of this page. The odd thing is, it doesnt appear on any other pages. I wonder why?
That’s a result of embedding the anchor into the description directly. It’s currently written as:
nice guys were here.” >
However, the nesting is interfering. I’m assuming you were trying to link the description directly to their website, but it messed up just a tad.
You might want to fix it (or not, I didn’t notice until it was pointed out. Familiarity just does that to you.)
Whoops – sorry everyone. That ‘nice guys were here.”> is exactly what’s breaking up top, and I forgot that the HTML tags were enabled for posts. My mistake.
The following is what preceeds the above segment (or should be, apologies if it once more fails to behave as expected):
FA HAO!
so hao……
kevjumba went to my high school
he’s mentioned in the preview link thing – i had no idea he was collaborating with wong fu!
wong fu!!!!! you guys are so lucky
“For charity reasons, but he didn’t get in.” LOL that guy is hilarious.
never thought these guys were so fun! thanx for the MIT propa…whoops sorry interview!
why didn’t he get in? can i ask what kind of gpa do you REALLY need to get into mit… 3.6 is barely scraping by and probably won’t get me in some lady that went to Harvard and Columbia told me. what gpas did you guys have?
Currently, I have managed to maintain a perfect 4.0 (up to now). But it doesn’t really matter as they are basically looking for people who took a number of hard classes while enjoying them.
Not that I have anything against the Asian community, but what the hell ever happened to having American students. I mean sure it is a private institution any one who is accepted well there accepted but still, it seems they would rather trade even the brightest of Americans for someone from an other country and besides, the schools in Asia such as Tokyo Institute of Technology is very well, you also have great schools in Europe. Matter fact the schools in Europe would be better then MIT “technology” wise, computers, and EE. They have always been a step-a-head.
