The interdisciplinary magic of mechatronics
The lab-based class 2.737 (Mechatronics) lives between mechanical and electrical engineering. Professor David Trumper has been leading the class since the early '90s, and he teaches students to start simple—with a piece of paper and a pen—to draw sketches, work out key calculations, and design new solutions to problems.
MIT First Nations Launch team won a grand prize
The MIT First Nations Launch team is a team of all-Indigenous students who integrate Indigenous methodologies in their engineering practices. This spring, they won the grand prize in the 2024 NASA First Nations Launch High-Power Rocket Competition for designing, building, and launching a rocket with a drone as a payload.
Celebrating student entrepreneurship
For 50 students from 22 startup teams, the 2024 delta v Demo Day was a chance to showcase all their early business achievements after an intensive summer program with the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.
