  4. Nate ('14?) says:

Thanks! This last 3.5 hours is going to be terrible.

  5. David says:

Thank you! I’m pretty nervous but I’m telling myself that in the long run things will work out and if I don’t get in MIT I can get in to another good school.

  6. Mike '14? says:

Thanks! I completely agree with you. MIT is by far my first choice but I know that if I don’t get in, I’ll work as hard as I can at a different school smile

  7. Brian says:

To any who don’t get it, don’t sweat it. I was deferred and then waitlisted last year and am now a freshman at Carnegie Mellon. I’m as happy as i could have ever wished for. Attending MIT is a great experience, i’m sure, but there are other places out there.

    That said, good luck!

  8. Christine says:

So nervous. But thanks that made me feel better

  11. gamer says:

    Ok guys and gals,

If u get your ticket today – enjoy the ego booster of your lifetime!

If you did not – here is a better reason to enjoy yourself..

From my real world experience for over 30 years – it is the innate desire to succeed in life that reigns supreme. Even if you study in a low key school but have an tenacious desire to succeed – you will succeed!

  16. Aidan says:

    Thanks. This is going to be a nerve-racking 2 hours and 5 no… 4 no… 3 minutes.
I envy those in Pacific Time who will get theirs at 6pm. I am on the east coast and am waiting till 9pm.

  17. Tom '80 says:

Here’s a secret: This tension is nothing. Just wait’till you have kids!!

  18. Stephanie says:

Editing the url to find out seems hardly in the spirit of admissions…

    …says the girl who’s now hyperventilating while waiting for 50 more minutes to pass. ^^;

  19. tree says:

the times when waiting was the only thing one can do…

  20. T says:

Why thanks. P.S, if it’s not loading, try the youtube HQ version. Somehow that one loaded first.

    Also perspective building:

And while we’re waiting, may i entertain my fellow waiters with this news about the longest sea bridge

  22. Aaaaaa! Thank you for the luck-wishing! I’m anticipating a small (or perhaps large) mental breakdown when I get the inevitable deferral. My friends all have faith in me (some of them ridiculously enthusiastic faith) and I have had extraordinarily good luck today, but I’m too scared to even consider that I might get accepted. It seems too amazing to be true. I love MIT and everything it stands for, it’s just a really amazing place and I want so badly to be a part of it.

@Brian – Thank you for saying that, that made me feel pretty good, since Carnegie Mellon is my second choice.

  23. Anonymous says:

I hope you are joking about the trick… I am so nervous now.

  24. Good luck to everybody! 18 minutes! Don’t refresh too much or you’ll overload the servers and we’ll all cry wink

  25. anon says:

expect decisions a few minutes early…

  26. Deeni '13 says:

    Good luck, people!

  27. Stephanie says:

    Deferred! Gah! @_@

  28. Deferred. Knew it. Oh well, pressure is let off until march!

  29. Naomi says:

    Defered….SOB :-(

  30. Tong '12 says:

VERY NICE!!! Oh… enjoy the trip and … i forgot my accounting book in your room. Not good.

  31. QA(14'?) says:

Good luck guys. Remember that beside MIT there are still plenty of great University out there. So don’t feel so bad if you get rejected.
@Brian: I wonder why you are still here. Still dwelling on MIT. You are just like me ^^. If I get rejected, I’ll keep haunting this web site until the end of my life. lol ^^
@Celena: thanks for the luck. You are so nice and thoughtful.

  32. Val'14? says:

    Man, this really IS brutal…

  35. Thank you so much. That helped calm my nerves some. Enjoy your holiday!
    grin

  36. Put the apostrophe in the wrong place on the name… anyway, T-1 hour 54 minutes.

  37. Tom Griffin says:

Good luck to all you High School seniors, and also the MIT Undergads.

Congratulations on all your accomplishments, and best wishes in whatever you do. You have everything in front of you. Enjoy!

(I am not stalking highschoolers but checking out what my son (’14?) will be looking at in a few hours, along with many others!)

MIT Alum – Class of 1980
(Would choose MIT again without hesitation!)

  38. Clara says:

    really nervous…

  39. I am so nervous I didn’t sleep last night. I am soooooooooo scared, I dont know what to do. I want to be a part of MIT so bad.

  40. OMG OMG OMG !!! I found a way to get MIT decisions now by editing the url!

Start with decisions.mit.edu/ , and put your username at the end. Add a slash “/”. Then go to my.mit.edu, copy the url and paste it after the url you already had. Now, login and then copy the new url. Paste this one after the other url that you just pasted. Here’s the tricky part: there is one section between the two url’s that is different (shown in pic below) tinyurl.com/2g9mqh . Put this section at the end of the slash, and you should get your decision!

    I got deferred :/
