blogger wrapped 2025 by Caleb M. '27

and taking part in tradition

Hello everybody! It’s high time that I take a break from all the deep, introspective, several-thousand-words blogs for something old, something old, something borrowed, and something I guess green: Blogger Wrapped 2025!01 ignore that it is new years 2026 It’s quite the honor to be sitting here in my bed writing this right now, cementing myself as the 8th scribe of the stored and iconic series in which the blogging community admits to our crimes of media over the past year via a synthesis of our Spotify Wrappeds/Apple Music Replays/YouTube Recaps for, as always, your entertainment.

Okay. I admit it. This is the latest that a Blogger Wrapped has ever come out (besides Abby’s original post in 2018). Why is that?, you’re probably wondering. Ummm, um um um. Great question. Yeah, no, great question. Honestly, it was probably because the Google Form I asked the other bloggers to fill out was pretty convoluted and nobody wants to fill out a form that long at the beginning of Finals season. But, hey, that’s okay. I bothered everybody enough in the following weeks to get it out of them eventually. And here we finally are!

If you’d like to take a trip down memory lane, check out Abby’s first Blogger Wrapped in 2018, Nisha’s in 2019, Nisha’s again in 2020, Ankita’s first in 2021 and second in 2022, my dear Kayode’s in 2023, and Andi’s in 2024!

And with that, let’s begin!

The first and generally most highly regarded statistic in Spotify Wrapped is, of course, minutes listened. The bloggers (the ones who were nice enough to submit the form, anyway) listened to a grand total of 543,112 minutes of music in 2025! That’s more than an entire year straight! (I was about to Google “minutes in a year” but then I remembered the song. fivehundredtwentyfivethousandsixhundred minutes… fivehundredtwentyfivethousand moments so dear…) Our most frugal listener with just under 10,000 minutes was Sara with 9,967 minutes, and our most obsessed was actually me, with 68,440 minutes of music under my belt in 2025, followed closely by Veronica at 56,323 minutes, a gap of just over Sara’s whole listening year!

Column chart that plots bloggers against the minutes of music they listened to this year, led by Caleb with 68,440.

Next up, how many different songs did we listen to this year? Petey pulled up the rear with 722 songs (though, in his defense, he doesn’t only use Spotify for his listening; more on that later) and Jebby’s 4694 tracks just beat out my 4674.

Column chart that plots bloggers against the number of songs they listened to this year, led by Jebby with 4694.

But even with all those tracks, everybody had one track that stood out above the rest:

  • Petey looped hey now by Kendrick Lamar featuring dody6, but notes: “this is not the correct answer though. the correct answer is euphoria, i just didn’t listen to it all on spotify.”
  • Kayode stuck to worship music with Friend of God by Israel Houghton.
  • Kano kept it wicked with What Is This Feeling? by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
  • Hala kept her room tidy 42 times with Olivia Rodrigo on making the bed.
  • Sara loved Billie Eilish’s WILDFLOWER with a clean 45 spins.
  • Teresa ended her love story with Last Romeo by INFINITE, scooping up 49 listens.
  • Aiden was caught up by Rein Me In by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean with 56 streams.
  • Ellie squeezed in 82 streams of Fleet Foxes’s Mykonos across 2025.
  • I kept Ribs by Lorde on my AirPods all year round in my constant state of nostalgia and desparate obsession with youth, raking in 126 listens.
  • Victor let the 70s shine with 141 streams of Àguas de Março by Elis Regina and Antônio Carlos Jobim, just trailing…
  • …Veronica, who spun What Was That off of Lorde’s newest album Virgin day after day, with 145.
  • Jebby took us back to the 90’s with 162 listens of Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC, commenting: “AKJSDHDKJS”…
  • …and Janet took the crown, singlehandedly keeping brat summer alive with 216 streams of Von dutch by Charli xcx.

Spotify let us guess our top song, and most of us were predictable enough to get it correct, but Kayode, Sara, Petey, and Kano surprised themselves and failed the exam. Better luck next year!

We also loved lots of unique artists, each sharing our year differently: Allison stayed with the 180 artists she knew and loved (or something like that… I had to estimate. Curse you YouTube Recap) while Jebby searched far and wide for new sounds every day, reaching an explosive 2,948 artists and blowing the rest of us straight out of the water, far out of reach of even our next best contender Kano’s 2,019.

Column chart that plots bloggers against the number of artists they listened to this year, led by Jebby with 2948.Even with such an array though, everybody had a musician particularly special to us… so here’s a survey of those, plus how each person felt about who kept their ear this year. (And if you were an extra special superfan this year, you also got a rank in the artist’s listener leaderboard!)

  • Taylor: Taylor Swift. Declined to comment.
  • Veronica: Taylor Swift. “i think it’s sweet that, for nostalgia’s sake, taylor has held on as my top artist since basically the beginning of time”
  • Allison: Sara Bareilles. Also also declined to comment.
  • Kayode: Ron Kenoly, top 1% of listeners. “yeah makes sense. Banger album.”
  • Victor: Tee Lopes, top 0.04% of listeners. “i feel awesome”
  • Sara: Taylor Swift, 802 minutes, top 6% of listeners. “context: I’ve been a legitimate #swiftie since like seventh grade but her music post-2020 has really been testing my faith 😔✊ […] but ig old taylor is just THAT good 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️”
  • Jebby: Charli xcx, 834 minutes, top 1% of listeners. “at first i was surprised, but then i remembered i made an entire playlist that just has her music”
  • Petey: Kendrick Lamar, 1,859 minutes, top 1% of listeners. “which again is a significant undercount”
  • Aiden: SZA, 2,369 minutes, top 0.4% of listeners. “I feel GREAT because whenever I’m in the top 1% I feel justified–like I am committed don’t question it”
  • Janet: Toby Fox, 2,375 minutes, top 0.6% of listeners. “i’m honestly surprised because i feel like i don’t listen to toby fox that much? but i think all the covers and variants make it up”
  • Teresa: INFINITE, 3,147 minutes, top 0.1% of listeners, Rank 2,715 of INFINITE listeners. “this is a little bit cooked because i had them on repeat while i was traveling in china but i love them so it’s ok. i’ve been listening to them since i was 12 💀”
  • Ellie: Pyotr Ilyich Thacikovsky, 3,530 minutes, top 0.03% of listeners, Rank 9,999 of Thaicovsky listeners. “ily babygirl”
  • Kano: Lady Gaga, 3,826 minutes, top 0.09% of listeners. “i feel whole”
  • Hala: Taylor Swift, 4,028 minutes, top 1% of listeners. “i mean, obviously. if this had been anyone else, I would have been very very surprised.”
  • Caleb (me!): Lorde, 4,464 minutes, top 0.03% of listeners, Rank 31,334 of Lorde listeners. “very predictable, she’s been my top artist since the first Spotify Wrapped in 2018”

Column chart that plots bloggers against how many minutes they streamed their top artist this year, led by Caleb with 4464.

We got some stats on everyone’s top albums as well, hearing about how many different albums people listened to (I’m assuming all the way through because I listened to songs off of more than 52 albums this year. I could count 520 different albums that I heard something off of to this year, I host a weekly radio show, damn it!). Kayode kept it close to home with 16 albums through, and Aiden and Janet were our biggest album explorers with 92 and 89, respectively.

Column chart that plots bloggers against the number of albums they listened to this year, led by Aiden with 92.

But again, we all had our favorites!

  • Veronica: deBÍ TiRAR Más FOToS by Bad Bunny
  • Kayode: Lift Him Up Live by Ron Kenoly. “super good! if I had a Time Machine you know where and when I’d be”
  • Sara: The Secret of Us by Gracie Abrams
  • Jebby: Mika’s Laundry by Matt Champion. “i need to listen to this album while doing math so i don’t crash out”
  • Teresa: All We Know Is Falling by Paramore. “holy goated paramore made up my top 4 albums 💀💀💀”
  • Petey: Masstaden by Forte, “which i listen to when i need to 𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝒊𝒏”
  • Ellie: Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes. “to be honest I can only name like two songs from fleet Foxes the album so I’m not sure what happened there.”
  • Hala: THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT: THE ANTHOLOGY by Taylor Swift. “a GREAT line up.”
  • Kano: MAYHEM by Lady Gaga. “YASSSSSSSSSSSS slay the house down boots”
  • Caleb: Pure Heroine by Lorde. “best album ever, forever”
  • Victor: Sonic Mania Original Sound Track by Tee Lopes. “it’s awesome and i am not ashamed 4 of my top songs were from this album”
  • Janet: Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan Stephens. “love of my life 😭😭😭 breaks my heart every time it’s just so beautiful.”
  • Aiden: deBÍ TiRAR Más FOToS by Bad Bunny. “Honestly so accurate.”

We also explored far and wide in terms of different genres—well, some explored a little more than others. Jebby took the cake again with 434 genres, closely followed by Kano at 403, while on the other end Hala stuck to what she knew over 124 genres.

Column chart that plots bloggers against how many genres they listened to this year, led by Jebby with 434.

In a return to form for Blogger Wrapped after last year’s disaster (just kidding, Andi. Not your fault), we’ve brought back the Blogger Genre Word Cloud! As always, indie took a main stage, sharing with art pop and pop rap and then surrounded by the idiosyncratic listenings of the community!

A word cloud of genres that the bloggers listen to. The biggest words include pop rap, art pop, musicals, indie rock, indie pop, and neoclassical.

One of my favorite stats this year was Listening Age: Spotify took our listening, shook it up in a jar, and used it to try and estimate how old we are. Since most of us (bar Petey.) are approximately the same age, I thought it would be fun to think what Spotify guessed about a bunch of 20-ish-year-olds, and I was not disappointed. Aiden was our youngest with an estimate of 21 years old, while Hala, Sara, Ellie, and Kano are awarded granny status with 78, 78, 79, and 80 years old respectively!

Column chart that plots bloggers against their "listening age," led by Kano at 80 years.

Feelings from the grans: Hala notes, “this should make absolutely NO sense, because my music taste is the epitome of that of a teenage girl… however, at some point last year, I did fall into a really, really deep Frank Sinatra phase where he became ALL I listened to – over and over again.” Ellie says she’s reached 79 “only because I’ve listened to like three beach boy song[s]??? I was hoping for like 150 tbh.” And our oldest blogger, 80-year-old Kano, isn’t one for too many words, simply stating: “validated.”

Spotify also categorized us into one of six Listening Clubs based on the vibe of our top songs. Read more about it here because I honestly didn’t really get it and can’t explain it too well. But here’s how we shook out:

  • I was joined in peace in the Cloud State Society by Ellie, Janet, and Sara.
  • Kayode was our smiling embassador from Club Serotonin.
  • Aiden, Jebby, and Kano kept it energetic as members of the Full Charge Crew.
  • Petey and Teresa stepped outside of the box with the Grit Collective,
  • and Victor and Hala wore their emotions on their headphones in the Soft Hearts Club.

We, unfortunately, had no members of the illustrious Cosmic Stereo Club.

Next up, Spotify gave us a little something extra this year at the end of our Wrappeds: a Listening Archive of our most memorable streaming days and an blurb about what made that day stand out. The blurb was written by AI, so I will not be including it here. However, I did make something extra-special to still show you the Bloggers’ Listening Archive: an interactive year in music! Press your favorite blogger’s face on the calendar below (okay, not necessarily your favorite, as we can’t ALL only read about me) and check out what made that day so special for us, with a blurb written NOT by AI, but instead yours truly!

Finally, we all know that sometimes our Spotify Wrapped can be a little bit… embarrassing. Or, if not embarrassing, at least surprising. Maybe you didn’t think you listened to that much of that artist, or you didn’t think the music that that person had recommended you would show up, or you just didn’t expect it to turn out how it did. And I wanted to give the bloggers a little bit of space to clear their name in the case that that was true! Thus, I present the “Hear-Me-Outs” of Blogger Wrapped.

  • Aiden: “I thought I was honestly gonna have much much more Ethel Cain, but her songs are so long that I think counting them makes it looks like I listened to less”
  • Caleb: “beyoncé at #2 was pretty surprising, but i think she’s up there because renaissance is good gym music so i was listening to her in perpetuity in the spring and then i saw her in paris so i had to listen up a lot around then too. generally otherwise predictable.”
  • Ellie: “Mykonos being my top song was so weird because I literally taught and led a choir to sing a different fleet foxes song and that didn’t show up?? this corporation named Spotify does not know me at all”
  • Hala: “i initially thought my minutes were SUPER low? I feel like I am listening to music ALL the time so this doesn’t add up. but i realize that in high school, I often worked on a desktop Mac at school that wasn’t connected to my Spotify, so I’d just play music off Youtube instead!! point is, double all of these stats.” Yeah, no.
  • Janet: “a little sad my cpop and jpop weren’t represented at all 😔 also this missed the hours and hours i spend listening to jpop piano covers by artist because i listen to them on youtube (not even youtube music)”
  • Jebby: “i had no idea that the opening song in Anora got me in that tight of a grasp (it’s my #2 song)”
  • Kano: “it’s interesting seeing the difference between my top artists and my most listened to tunes. like I don’t normally listen to my top artists but, of the people I listen to, they are the most common. data visualization things!”
  • Kayode: “Accidentally in Love from Shrek 2 was the second highest non-Christian song this year.”
  • Sara: “no hear me out, I think my wrapped is quite reflective of the music I listened to this year. […] I feel I have to defend my low listening time though — historically I’ve been in the 20-30k range but this past yr I’ve had moments where I’m lowk j bored of music so I would j delete the spotify app for a couple weeks here and there”
  • Teresa: “maybe the only surprise was i thought paramore would be higher due to recency bias but i think i was listening to them a lot after the october cutoff”
  • Veronica: “i was rlly surprised by selena gomez being in my top five songs, but tbh that song is rlly catchy and i do recall looping it for about a week straight. every year i seem to pick one song to loop while i pset, and this year feeling blew won that battle!”
  • Victor: “i kept spamming genesis by peso pluma last summer this makes me seem like im more knowledgeable than i am”

And with that, we’ve reached the end of our Blogger Wrapped! Now for our summaries…

1. Aiden's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "I feel great---first time I haven't been embarrassed." 2. Allison's Spotify Wrapped. 3. Caleb's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i am quite happy with my wrapped this year! i think it's really special how my top 5 songs kind of synthesize the things i did in 2025: grew up and feared it (ribs), loved (smooth), loved some more (400 lux), partied (i gotta feeling), and grew up some more (the middle). like, yeah, exactly." 4. Ellie's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "I (my music taste) am a collection of people who have loved me and it's WEIRD TO SEE !! who allowed this ? anyway love u tchaik" 1. Hala's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i love my wrapped. i love acting surprised when the same artists I listen to every single day are ""somehow"" still my top five. i love looking at other people’s wrapped, clicking on a song, and thinking, “how do they listen to that?” - and then thinking a little more about how cool it is that we all love such different things. i love remembering where I was when I listened to these songs. I Hate It Here SINGLE-HANDEDLY carried me through college apps, while Feels Like was my song of the summer." 2. Janet's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i have found zen and thus no longer care about the signalling that comes with my spotify wrapped 💆🏻‍♀️ that’s right i’m ultimately a pop girl and i stand by it etc. i feel like the summary days were somewhat interesting but they were all just assignment due days so i was listening to music instead of touching grass… anyway petition for spotify to release the raw data so i can do my OWN interesting analysis when" 3. Jebby's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "mmmmm mk.gee 😌" 4. Kano's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "yer"1. Kayode's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "Yeah it’s alright. Kinda hard to listen to because worship music and all the other stuff don’t mix super well. So I don’t think I’m gonna listen to it, but it’s cool to look at!" 2. Petey's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i know from my last.fm that i listened to more/different songs than this; i use the podcast app for many podcasts; i used youtube to listen to endless hours of kendrick remixes and deep cuts and reactions to gnx. this is an important lesson to us: that the map is not the territory, that which is captured is not the whole, and it never can be, despite what the forces of avarice may try to obtain. whether we can learn this lesson remains to be seen." 3. Sara's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "no thoughts in specific I just think it's funny my wrapped is like: could soundtrack a target black friday ad >> future >> could soundtrack a target black friday ad" 4. Taylor's Spotify Wrapped and my own comment about it: "Taylor declined to comment, but I would like to note that THIS is what she sent me to work with… “original, unedited, and unwrapped.” Yeah, thanks, Taylor." The spotify wrapped is chopped off at the top half and the top songs are blacked out.1. Teresa's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "overall this has been a pretty low listening year for me… i haven’t been listening to new music as much & just been defaulting to my comfort artists. my wrapped was predictable but lowkey all bangers so idc!!! it also reminds me that i’ve been feeling more present this year instead of always having music running in the background :))" 2. Veronica's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i was rlly happy w the new music this year! both Virgin and DTMF have rlly defined my listening for 2025. i also think it’s sweet that, for nostalgia’s sake, taylor has held on as my top artist since basically the beginning of time" 3. Victor's Spotify Wrapped and comment: "i like my wrapped very diverse selection of genres, artists, regions, etc. i only hope that my top songs are not all sonic next year though, because that was actually surprising to me."

You can check out everybody’s top 5 songs on the playlist below!

Thanks so much for reading and sharing in our (perhaps questionable) music tastes for 2025! Until next year, when another blogger hopefully finishes this synthesis much sooner than I did…
