- Fmr Director of Admissions
Biography
For more than a decade, I have served as an admissions officer for MIT. In that time, I've read more than 10,000 applications and have watched thousands of new students enter MIT. It is a privilege to work at the most dynamic and exciting university in the world.
In addition to working at MIT, I also went to MIT, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Management Science. While at MIT, I was very involved in student government (serving as President my senior year), intramural ice hockey (C League), the MIT Quiz Bowl team, student publications, and more. When not in class or student groups, I could be found in my dormitory, Baker House, the architectural gem built by Alvar Aalto on the banks of the Charles River.
I grew up in a small town, and neither my parents nor my grandparents before them went to college, making going off to the big city to attend university an even bigger adventure. Thanks to a generous financial aid package, I was able to attend MIT, and have a great time.
In my spare time, you can find me reading periodicals like the New York Times and the New Yorker, playing games like Settlers of Catan or Dominion, working on learning Chinese, or spending time at home with my family.
